Functional diagnostics

Functional diagnostics at Pluszahnärzte®

Functional diagnostics is a special discipline within the field of dentistry and is concerned with the misalignment of jaws and teeth, as well as their effect on the rest of the body. The condition caused by the incorrect alignment of the jaw and teeth is called craniomandibular dysfunction, or CMD for short.

The consequences of a functional disorder

Misaligned jaws or teeth may have a huge impact on a person's health and well-being. An increasing number of people suffer from these functional disorders, which may lead to headaches, facial pain, tension in the neck, and many other problems. CMD may even result in tinnitus and vertigo.

Functional diagnostics in our dental practices

If you suffer from chronic pains in your head, neck, or jaw area which do not have a clear origin, consider talking to a Pluszahnärzte® dentist about your symptoms, as well as your family doctor. Your dentist can help you discover the cause with a functional analysis of your masticatory system. The examination will take place in several steps, ranging from an analysis of your personal medical history to a computer-assisted, instrumental examination.
